She was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, his father german-jewish and her mother Ecuadorian. Ilse was educated in bilingual institutions, getting her high school degree on Business Administration at the American School of Guayaquil. She also got a Tourism degree at University El Carmel, in Haifa-Israel.
She worked as an English teacher for many years and became the school exchange programs coordinator. Later, she decided to venture in the tourism industry. Her experienced comes from working for some Galapagos tour operators, international airlines, hotels and tour operators in general.
In the year 2000 she decided to create TRAVELTIPS S.A a tour operator in Guayaquil specialized in incoming tourism. Together with her husband, Cap. Fernando Toledo, they have managed the company that has been recognized as the first and best specialized tour operator in the city.
Born in Quito, but established in Guayaquil for more than 40 years, Fernando is a retired member of the Ecuadorian Marine, who started his experience in tourism back in 1985 being captain for some Galapagos cruise ships carrying passengers from all over the world. Due to his excellent development and knowledge, he was proposed to lead the construction of minor vessels for Galapagos. He managed Ecoventura for more than 10 years, time after which he decided to become independent and boost Traveltips together with his wife, Ilse Tugendhat. He was responsible of creating and implementing the control and service systems for the company.
Her experience in tourism started 15 years ago, working for a travel agency and Galapagos tour operator. Because of her disposition to learn and work, she had the opportunity to work on board of the Galapagos Legend as purser and public relations.
She joined the Traveltips team on 2008, and up to now is in charge of the operations department and client service. She has a knack for details and for getting things done no matter the insurmountable odds...and does it all with a smile on her face!
Jorge, better known as “Coquito”, is the youngest member of our staff. He joined the agency a year ago, and along with Erika is in charge of coordinating the logistics of the services we provide.
He combines his youth and enthusiasm to give our guests a quality service.
He studies Tourism & Hospitality at the Catholic University of Guayaquil. When he was a child, he and his family lived abroad in the United States and India. During these years he had the opportunity to travel, to know different cultures, which helped him to shape his character and to cope with different situations. He speaks English, Portuguese and Hindi.
Victor is a young curious and entrepreneur guy who likes rock music and travel. He has participated as a representative of our company in some familiarization trips and incentives to different sites of the country.
He was born in Guayaquil and is currently studying business administration at the University of Guayaquil. He joined our team in 2008 as Administration assistant and is currently in charge of our computer system and accounting controls.
Monica keeps the books of our company. She is responsible for billing, reporting and accounting statements.
CPA graduated from the State University of Guayaquil, got a CPA degree in 1986.
Joined Traveltips in 2004, and is a strategic partner of our organization.
Married and with two teenager children, shares her time between caring for her family and her job as an accountant.
She is in charge of supervising all concerning the services provided to our customers; she joined our staff in 2016.
She got her degree in Business Administration at the Catholic University of Guayaquil, has degrees in marketing and international administration, customer service management and international tourism development at universities in the United States and Israel.
She has many years of experience in the tourism industry, airlines and has participated in the development of tourism and foreign trade projects in the public and private sector.
Her travels to the United States as well as to different European and Asian countries with her husband and children allowed her to know and have a better understanding of various cultures.
